HOW MEDITATION BECAME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE QUANTUM FACE-LIFT PROGRAM
- Have you ever wondered why you look older when you feel tired? When you feel stressed out?
- What if you could have more vitality, feel more energetic?
- Do you recall a time in your life when you had unlimited energy? When you were relaxed and at ease with yourself?
- What if the Quantum Face-Lift could set back the clock and bring back your youthful appearance?
- How would you feel if that came to be?
Miriam and I found a shady spot to meditate during a break at the QFL live workshop Laredo, July 2015
When I started writing the QFL program the first thing I did was hold a brainstorming session with myself. I knew that for me, creating a healthy method to take some of the age out of my face would take some serious soul searching as well as diligent research. I found a quiet place where I would not be disturbed, began to breathe a little more slowly than normal and moved into a quasi-meditative state. One of the first thoughts that came to me was: “The Beginning of a Better-Looking Skin Is a More Relaxed me.” It felt as if my authentic-self or my heart suddenly gave me a great insight. What better method could I possibly use as a foundational technique for relaxing and hence beautifying my face than meditation?
The greatest meditation teacher I know is Deepak Chopra.
According to Deepak:
” Meditation is a journey from external activity to inner silence. For most of your life, you may be busy doing things, but meditation will give you the opportunity to just Be. … [finding] the perfection that has been hidden by layers of stress, fatigue, toxins, doubts, fears, and confusion.”
In my research about the causes for lines and wrinkles I learned that some of the leading factors are toxins, stress, fears about aging, and doubts about what we can possibly do about it, which lead to fatigue and loss of self confidence.
Whatever it was, it brought me to the obvious insight that meditation needed to become an integral part of the Quantum Face-Lift program. Meditation reduces stress by balancing your hormonal system by reducing cortisol (the stress hormone) and increasing DHEA (the happiness hormone). It brings renewal to your autonomic nervous system by bringing stability to your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Breathing brings more oxygen to the body and meditation relaxes the muscles and skin. Which brings me right back to the first thought in my original brain-storming session; the message from my authentic self, from my heart: “The Beginning of a Better-Looking Skin is a More Relaxed Me.”
